Portland, OR Carrier was recently recognized for excellence in product design in the 10th annual Dealer Design Awards Program sponsored by The Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration News magazine. An independent panel of contractors acted as judges in the contest that had 122 entries. The Carrier® Infinity® Remote Access Touch Control was the Gold Award Winner in the HVAC Residential Equipment category. The ACHR News is the leading trade magazine in the heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration industries.

The Infinity Touch control is the key to unlocking the homeowner’s comfort potential. It’s also the brains behind a Greenspeed™ intelligence system. As part of a complete Infinity, communicating system, this one control can manage temperatures, humidity, ventilation, airflow, indoor air quality and up to eight zones. If the system includes a heat pump and a furnace, its advanced features can orchestrate Hybrid Heat® system performance, and it can all be managed from just about anywhere with Wi-Fi enabled remote access via the Internet as well as Apple® and Android™ smartphone or tablet devices.

“The Infinity Touch Control is a direct result of Carrier’s commitment to leadership in the industry,” said John Gibbons, director of residential product marketing, Carrier. “Not only did we focus on the creation of a technologically advanced home comfort control, but we developed a user-friendly control with easy programming, unique personalization and on-the-go access features. To be recognized with the Gold Award for this year’s 2013 ACHR News Dealer Design Award Program is a testament to the effort that went into this product and the team we have in place to execute the design and manufacturing.”

News Publisher Mike Murphy stated, “These awards give us a unique opportunity to recognize the outstanding research and development efforts that go into many of the products serving the HVACR industry and the awards issue gives our readers an opportunity to read about innovative installation and service solutions.”
