Jacobs hosted by Carrier Corp at Indianapolis headquarters and factory
The Jacobs residential new construction and retrofit teams were hosted by the Carrier Corporation at its Indianapolis, Indiana headquarters and factory in late April to preview the latest technologies in the Carrier residential line, including the
Inverter Drive Heat Pump with Greenspeed Technology, a prototype of the next generation of gas furnace and an industry leading thermostat and control software package. Jacobs’ staff was able to meet with Carrier product development staff, engineers, quality control managers, and assembly technicians to exchange ideas on products and markets. Highlights of the trip for the Jacobs team included a visit to the R& D Laboratory, where simulation rooms for equipment testing can create an vast range of environmental conditions, including temperatures up to 125 and down to – 50 degrees, snow, rain, sleet and even a marine “salt” fog. Most impressive was witnessing the extensive quality control processes on the factory floor, which are limiting rejected units to rates of less than .01% of production. Jacobs thanks Carrier for its generosity in sponsoring this educational visit.Recent Press
