Jacobs Heating Sponsors the R.E.X. Project!
Jacobs Heating is proud to be a sponsor of the R.E.X.(Reuse Everything eXperience)Project. HGTV design expert and freelance writer Shannon Quimby,
featured on HGTV's, "My First Place" and in national home and design magazines such as Homes and Gardens, Country Living and Windows and Walls, has come up with the ultimate recycling project. This little house on Rex Street in Portland's Westmoreland neighborhood did not stand the test of time. But thanks to Shannon and her team, this old house will not end up in our area landfills like so much other construction waste. Shannon's goal is to reuse the entire old home to rebuild a new home. Yes, she means EVERYTHING: windows and doors, bathtub and even the termite-infested boards with dry rot. This ultimate recycled home will also have the latest in energy conservation and home comfort technology with the addition of a Carrier Infinity Hybrid fuel heating and cooling system, installed by none other than the quality craftsmen of Jacobs Heating and Air Conditioning. Follow the weekly progress on Shannon's blog at oregonlive.com/hg. The R.E.X. House will be featured in the Ultimate Open House tour coming April 18th, 19th, and 20th and April 26th, 27th, and 28th. Be sure to come take a look. It's an ambitious and one-of-a-kind project to reuse absolutely everything and with Shannon's energy and determination combined with a little help from Portland's local building community, we're confident she will get it done. Good luck Shannon!Recent Press
