By Susan Green, The Oregonian

BINGEN, Wash. -- Few people could be more surprised at the rapid growth of Klickitat County's robotic airplane maker, Insitu, than its chief executive officer, Steve Sliwa.

The company has grown from four employees when it was founded in 1994, to six when Sliwa joined in 2001, to about 30 in 2004 to 360 employees in July 2008 when Boeing announced it was going to acquire Insitu as a wholly owned subsidiary.
