Our Team

Jacobs Heating and Air Conditioning is a family-owned and operated company, serving the HVAC needs of the greater Portland region since 1952. Brent Jacobs is the second generation owner of the company and serves as its President.  Over the years, Brent has assembled a top-notch management team of experienced professionals. "The smarter they are, the smarter I am," says Brent. "We don't assume our employees know everything, but we do ensure they are the most knowledgeable and well-trained professionals in the market by investing in them."

Every employee, including office staff and production people, receives training - both in-house and externally at industry seminars.  Jacobs involves its field people in role-playing exercises where they pose situations that solicit responses to "What happens when..?" Personality tests are administered to determine employee strengths and weaknesses. Shop people are all industry trained, and some are involved in teaching others. All of this is done not just to make them better long-term employees, but better people, too. We believe we are the best and make sure our employees have the tools and the training to be the best.

Jacobs currently employs more than 80 people, many of whom have been with the company 10, 20, and even 30 years. That type of loyalty is a testimony to the heritage of the company established by Brent's father Basil Jacobs over 60 years ago.

Brent Jacobs

As the second generation President of Jacobs Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., Brent Jacobs has taken a critical role in the current success of the company. Born and raised in Portland, living and breathing HVAC, Brent is a fundamental part of the company's evolution. From installing his first furnace before he could drive to now overseeing its four divisions, Brent has seen it all!

Michael J. "Mick" Desserault
Chief Financial Officer

A graduate of the University of Washington School of Business, Mick spent 5 years with the Seattle audit practice of Deloitte and Touche, LLC, specializing in retail, manufacturing and construction. Then, he returned to his hometown of Yakima, Washington to manage his family's business in the food processing and agriculture sectors. The sale of the family business allowed he and his wife to pursue their dream of making beautiful Portland, Oregon their home. The CFO position at Jacobs continues Mick's life-long passion for managing and promoting Northwest family and closely-held businesses.

Marcy Huxtable
Commercial Construction Manager

I have been involved in the Oregon HVAC industry since 1989. I started my career as a sales rep for a HVAC equipment company working with many manufactures, engineers, and contractors, including Jacobs. My next experience in the industry was as an Estimator/Project Manager for a leading Oregon Commercial HVAC Contractor. I joined the Jacobs team in 2010 as a Commercial Projects Estimator and took the position of Commercial Department Manager in 2012. I am excited to work with a professional sales personnel and installers who have the expertise to complete all projects from small tenant improvement to commercial high rises.  Our goal in the commercial department is to have the projects run smoothly and on time.

I began working in this ever-changing field in 1986, and have had the opportunity to work in every aspect of the HVAC industry.

I have been fortunate to be the Residential Department Manager at Jacobs since 1999. Over this period of time, I have learned that my number one mission is to provide extraordinary customer service. Whether it is furnace heating, solar water heating systems, or something else, we are committed to providing the best retrofit installation and new home services in Oregon.

I could not be a successful manager without the dedication and perseverance of the entire Residential Construction team.
